STEVE DONEGAN (TRUMPET)
Born in Thunder Bay, Ontario, Steve Donegan currently enjoys an active life as a performer and educator in Victoria. Steve holds both an Honours Bachelor of Arts (Music) and Bachelor of Education degrees from Lakehead University and a Master of Music degree in Performance from Memorial University of Newfoundland. Steve has performed with the Thunder Bay Symphony Orchestra, the Newfoundland Symphony Orchestra, the National Youth Orchestra of Canada (NYOC) and Ottawa's Band of the Ceremonial Guard.
Performance highlights include bugling for their Royal Highness’s the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, performing as NYOC principal trumpet for the world premiere of Nicolas Gilbert's Resistance and Tchaikovsky’s famous 1812 Overture, and as a featured soloist during Music at Memorial's 2013-14 concert series.
Steve is currently a member of the Naden Band of the Royal Canadian Navy.

ALANA JOHNSON (TRUMPET)
Alana has been a musician since she can remember. Piano was her first love at the age of five and she began singing in choirs at the age of four. She picked up the trumpet in her elementary school's beginning band. After being involved in outstanding middle and high school music programs, she completed a Bachelor of Music in Trumpet performance from the University of Victoria under the direction of Louis Ranger. She currently shares her love of music with elementary, middle and high school students around Sooke and Victoria. She is also an Aboriginal Role Model in the Sooke School District, sharing her story as the descendant of Haida and settler British ancestors. She seeks to provide young musicians with opportunities to experience the same fun, skills, and values she experienced through her education.

NORBERT ZIEGLER (FRENCH HORN)
Norbert has been playing the horn for 17 years. He earned his Bachelor of Music and Master of Music degree from the University of Victoria under Kurt Kellan former Principal Horn of the Calgary Philharmonic. Norbert has performed with many ensembles including: University of Victoria Wind Symphony, University of Victoria Orchestra, the Meridiem Wind Ensemble, Ensemble Pacifica, South Island Wind Ensemble, Beacon Hill Brass, Victoria Operatic Society and of course Brasstastic. Currently Norbert is the music teacher at Stelly's Secondary School in Central Saanich.

Trombonist Heidi Worrall graduated with Bachelor of Music Performance degree at UVic in 2019. Heidi is an active member of the Meridiem Wind Orchestra and Greater Victoria Youth Orchestra. She enjoys exploring many musical styles, from medieval chant and baroque counterpoint to jazz improvisation and modern art music. Her musical exploration extends beyond trombone as she sings with the Christ Church Cathedral Choir and St. Christopher Singers as an alto choral scholar. She finds great fulfillment experiencing the freedom of expression that the vulnerability of song inspires in trombone playing, and endeavors to share such profound joy in everything, working to build community between cultures through the art of musical collaboration.

Bass trombonist Jon Candel performs with a wide variety of groups including the Victoria Jazz Orchestra and the Sooke Philharmonic Orchestra. He earned his Bachelor's and Master's of Music Performance at the University of Calgary and Carnegie Mellon University, studying under James Scott (Calgary) and Peter Sullivan (Pittsburgh). By day Jon works as an accountant at Metrics Chartered Professional Accounting, where he specializes in financial technology for small businesses.
